ABOUT TEAM VIP

Team VIP (Volunteering Is Philanthropy) is the award-winning Students in Action Team at Richland One Middle College. We believe that everyone can be a philanthropist and it is our mission to create a sustainable philanthropic culture in our community. Team VIP gives their time, talents, and treasure by doing anything from raising funds for the SC Autism Society to volunteering time with Palmetto SeniorCare.  We believe that service can span many communities and it is important to engage the community in rewarding activities that promotes community involvement. We are the student service leaders at our school and we aim to have an impact on our peer's view of service

Our Mission

To engage youth in sustainable philanthropic efforts that increase service and community awareness by promoting engaging and enjoyable activities that have a positive impact on their view of service... to in essence create a positive culture of service!

What is Philanthropy?

Philanthropy is defined as altruistic concern for human welfare and advancement, usually manifested by donations of money, property, or work. That's great to know, but why is that important to us? We have the strong belief that volunteering is philanthropy, the origin of Team VIP. Volunteering can take the form of any of the 3 T's: time, talent, and treasure. By volunteering not only are we helping our community, but we are also building important interpersonal skills. Due to our diverse population of students, we serve many different communities on the basis of age, gender, socio-economic status, geographic location and much more. Team VIP is building a legacy of philanthropic service at Richland One Middle College and the vast reach of its students
